Just transfered my TFSA from Scotia to WS Trade. Make sure you are all in cash for quickest transfer. Initiated transfer on January 5 and money was available to trade on January 20th. Download app, go to funding tab and initiate transfer. Pretty straightforward.

Just a word of caution, … If I have a unregistered personal account currently on WS Trade, can I change it to a TFSA? I don’t want to sell all my holdings and rebuy, just change the account type. I'm new to investing and created a WS Trade account a few months ago. Back then I wasn't aware that opening a Trade TFSA was possible. My situation is I have a lot of stocks and money on my personal WS Trade that I would like to transfer to WS TFSA. I have a ton of room in my TFSA and have opened a very modest WS Trade TFSA account. I have a few direct stocks and a steady EFT. This week , my EFT is lower but my stocks are doing ok and indicators point to them doing better in the short term.
